CFP is the leading hardwood plywood and veneer producer in North America, with tremendous long-term advantages, as we supply all facets of the Professional and Do It Yourself woodworking markets.

You can probably find our products on the racks of your local Home Depot store, or installed in nearby homes, schools, offices, hospitals and elsewhere, in the form of cabinetry, furniture, millwork and wall treatments.

CFP has a strong, highly experienced management team and values autonomy, performance, and preparing employees for challenging leadership roles. A number of the CFP leadership team has grown up and been developed within the company.
CFP competes by leveraging our multi-location, vertical integration and customer focus to deliver made-to-order wood products so our customers can increase their sales, lower their inventory, and achieve higher cash flow.

CFP is an innovative company that manufactures high quality, differentiated products with a tremendous level of customer service and support. We have made ourselves extremely critical to our customers’ success by being easy to do business with.

But we’re not done.  We are also looking to learn more from companies who are highly proficient at eCommerce, new product introductions, and advanced procurement capabilities.

These would be advantageous traits of candidate companies we’re looking to combine with ours.

The Process

What’s Next?

We’d like to engage with owners who, upon learning about CFP and realizing they might be a good fit for our proposal, about the possibilities of blending companies.

This could take the form of phone conversations at first, until we’re both motivated to take more committed steps toward a possible unification.

This is a profoundly important decision for each of us, and we’ll tell you now –this is not something we intend to rush.

We estimate that, even if everything goes as smoothly and enthusiastically as possible, it might require four months to arrive at a binding agreement.

Operating as an ESOP reminds us that our organization is managed for the very long term.  In many ways, we operate quite nimbly.  But when it comes to significant, transformative decisions, CFP takes its time.
